the poster describes a transition of different media types. a visual analogy of an evolution, relating to us as student designers and how one day we will create bigger and better designs (hopefully). its purely an analogy, it could be media types, or bugs, or mobile phones... we chose disks/tapes/cds because we already had those particular vector images.

can you explain why is the bottom right poster used old floppy disk as the theme?

the fourth poster was just a concept by steph and mark looking at technological advancement. I don't beleive it will be used in the final pster
